Frank Mueller a.k.a Beroshima has been a Pioneer of electronic music since the mid 1990's.His musical passion was ignited at the age of 13, when he created his first DJ set. Shortly after Frank played many early gigs in west Germany’s new wave scene. With the collapse of the Berlin wall he moved from Holland to Berlin, the „CPU“ of Techno.

2 Years later Beroshima was formed and later joined by Ulrich Schnauss in 1996. Beroshima started with a cutting edge acid flavored electronic sound and has constantly evolved as one of the finest acts in live techno. His other main imprint Mueller records was started in 1996 providing a platform for old and fresh protagonists of electric music.

The name Beroshima has spread to the world, with sightings all over the planet from Europe to South America, Asia and everywhere in between. Beroshima is constantly exploring with a musical compass. Frank has dropped uncountable floor hits like "Deebeefunky" "We who are oppressed" and "electronic discussion". All of the top magazines feature his innovative productions.

Known as an expert DJ and producer, Frank Muller has been a resident DJ at Mayday and a frequent favorite at the WIRE Festival in Japan, in addition to his residency nights "WE LOVE NEON" in Berlin and constant global touring.

Everyone has heard at least once, one of the best known Beroshima tracks, "Horizon" released by Cocoon, Mueller & Soma. Horizon was the No.1 hit in Ibiza 2007 and one of the best selling records on Cocoon ever. It was featured in Compilations by Francois K., Danny Howells, Sven Vath, Funk D'void and many other top DJs. Beroshima releases are often listed on the playlist of many high profile artists, like Nic Fanciulli, Sasha, James Zabiela, and Technasia to name a few.

Beside his imprint as a Techno Dj and live act his production skills provided the platform for many other artists and genres. The result is his unique Beroshima style. One of his latest releases MOONRAKER was chosen as best House production in 2008 by a number of Magazines in northern Europe.

Latest EP Cosmic Flight, unreleased remixes, Techno Evergreens and lots of New Trax you will find on upcoming next Beroshima triple CD Album to be released in spring 2011. Frank Muellers newest Techhouse creation will be out on his new label MAD MUSICIAN in December.

Frank Mullerをマスターマインドとし表現の自由の場所としてエレクトロニック・ミュージックを基盤としたそれぞれ5つのレーベルを成功に導く。（※90年代初頭より設立したレーベル（以下順同）ACID ORANGE, TANJOBI RECORDS,MULLER RECORDS,LIFE TIME,BEROSHIMA MUSIC）現在本人を含める第一線で活躍する多くのアーティストを発掘し育ててきた。音楽へ傾ける純粋な職人精神は今も昔も色あせない。それがうかがえる結果として携わってきた作品の数は300を数え、テクノフロアを沸かせる数々のヒットトラックを生み出してきた。Frank Mullerが92年に始めたセルフプロジェクト”Beroshima”は彼の最初の自身のレーベル"Acid Orange"とともに始まる。当時完全にアンダーグラウンドな音楽であった"Acid Orange"や"Beroshima"のスタイルはエクスペリメンタルな音楽の分野に挑戦し、次第に無秩序な音（Chaotic Tunes）として、世界的に広まっていく。それらはFrank Mullerの2つ目のレーベル"tanjobi records"から出された最初の自身のアルバム"the lost freakquencies"からも聞くことができる。この二つのレーベルはアシッド、ディープミニマル、ミニマルハウスのDJ達から多く支持された。現在でもコレクターズアイテムとして異常人気を誇り、通常のレコードの20倍の値段で売られている等、レーベルサイドにも再販のリクエストがやまない。

★MULLER RECORDS

Muller Recordsは1996年に生まれ、とがったベルリンのクラブサウンドとして始まり、ベルリンのテクノシーンの中で成功したひとつのレーベルとなった。彼の経歴は1992年にacid orangeの音作りに専念するために壁が崩壊した直後、ベルリンに移った時から封は切られた。有能なテクノ・プロデューサーが“本当の自由の意味において活動できる場所“としてのMuller Records創設に専念する。後にこのMuller Recordsの誕生が彼のアイコンとも言うべきユニークかつオリジナリティあふれる作風・名を歴史に刻むダンストラックをフロアに届ける始まりとなる。最初のリリースである"electronic discussion" と "deebeephunky"は斬新な作品として受け入れられ本人の予期せぬところからMuller Recordsのクラブヒットの始まりとなる。その頃より、他のアーティストや友人がremixerやプロジェクトを共有する仲間として参加するようになった。同時にDJとして、またBeroshimaでのライブなどでドイツはもとより、日本-南米と世界中の場所で認知され、オファーが増え続けるのは自然の成り行きとなった。そして世界的な音楽のネットワークを確立することに成功する。

★The sound of Beroshima

Beroshimaのサウンドは変化に富み、以来日本を代表するテクノＤＪ石野卓球やClaude Young、DJ Rok,ローラン・ガルニエ等多くのミュージシャンが彼のプロジェクトを支持している。上記の仲間達をはじめとし、実験的なセッションを多く重ねてきた。またある一年は、レーベル運営に手腕をふるい、よりMuller Recordsの不動の地位を固めるべく、その期間は自身の作品をリリースすることなくスタジオワークに時間を注ぐ事となる。----2001/"the Pornography Of Performance"(P.O.P)を発表。これまでの成果が凝縮された傑作となり、中国や他の東南アジア諸国、ラテン・アメリカなどダンス・カルチャーがまだあまり知られていない国々へドアを開けることとなった。----2002/5つ目の新しいレーベルBEROSHIMA MUSICを始め、自分のプロダクションスタイルに磨きを掛けるべくBeroshimaスタイルにフォーカスしはじめる。Mullerからのクラシック・トラックを収録した”best of-collection”を皮切りにその後にリリースした"fuck your body"や"dance the machine"は、Andrew Weatherall,Slam,DJ Hell達のピークタイムにかけられるなど世界的に反響を呼んだ。----2003/ Frank Muller名義で日本においてのパーティを定期的に行い、中国、ロシア、韓国などさらに新たな大陸へのフットステップを決める。

----2004/春に日本を先駆け石野卓球率いるレーベルPlatikから"the catastrophe ballet "を発売。夏にかけてヨーロッパ、マレーシア、南米の発売に合わせツアーを敢行しオファーに答えるべく3大陸を飛び続けた。

----2005/ wire05（*WIRE:SONY MUSIC主催　日本最大の屋内テクノフェスティバルを指します。）セカンドフロアのトップバーナーとして出演。安定した貫禄のパフォーマンスを披露した。それを皮切りに、オーストラリア、上海、香港、日本各地はもとより、シカゴ、ニューヨーク、リオデジャネイロ、サンパウロ、ブエノスアイレス、チリまでと例年より更に範囲が広がった形でのロングツアーを成功させた。

----2006/以前より暖め続けたムラーレコーズのショーケース的役割を果たすレギュラーパーティを第1回ベルリンにて立ち上げる。発案者としてコンセプトを明確に打ち出すパーティを精力的に行い出演の場を重ねている。

テクノ界の重鎮でありcocoonのボスであるSven VathにＤＪセットの最後をしめるトラックとして2月から現在までプレイされているほか、,Kompaktを代表するMichael Mayer,Takkyu Ishino,Funk D’void,Guy Gerber,DJ mogwai,DJ Karotte等世界のフェスティバルを渡り歩くトップDJ達により、それぞれユニークなセットにおいてプレイされている。またレーベル側にフィードバックされたDJチャートの数は200に及んだ。
Side B2に挿入されたHORIZONがSVEN VATH率いるcocoonによりライセンスされ、6月初頭に発売された。

発売前のプロモーション段階からスペインのラジオ局にてチャートインし、音楽雑誌にはこぞってTHE FIRST OFFICIAL SUMMER OPEN AIR BOMB 2007と形容され、世界最高峰マーケットであるイギリスのダンスマガジン誌には”this is the absolutely anthem rock IBIZA this summer” と評価された。
Beat port interviewにおいてはJohn DigweedのNo.1レコメンドをうける。

94年よりテクノとハウスをクロスオーバさせた秀作をリリースし続け、テックハウスと言う新しいジャンルができた時代には、すでに上層部でシーンの流れを汲み取っていたmuller recordsのチーフ、Frank Muller a.k.a Beroshima。”Horizon”という形で彼のレーベルがSomaからデビューすることをここに自信をもってお届けする。

オリジナルのHorizonは2007年にcocoonよりPig&Danのミニマルリミックスをカップリングにしリリースされ、以降Valentino Kanzyani, Lucca, Francois K,John Digweed,Danny Howells,Dj Hell,Miss,kittin等世界のスーパースターDJ達に絶賛されている他日本では石野卓球、井上　薫(chari chari)、Toby等幅広い層に支持されている。
リミキサーのFunk D’Voidも奇遇なことにFrankとの共通点を多く持ち合わせ、90年代中盤よりテクノ-ハウスの草分け的存在として名乗りを上げる。Funkにより製作されたHope remixはオリジナルより、よりダイナミックなキックが刻まれ、彼独特のベース使いにより、トラック全体のドライブ感が、自信をもって製作されたものとして受け取ることができる。
Frank Mullerのセルフミックス”Deep Mix”は、より感情的に、ソウルフルかつ繊細な、ディープハウスの中でもよりディープ層の仕上がりとなっている。このmixからはタイトルも自然に想像することができる作品となった。
この12インチの締めとなるCorazon Mixは、2007年自身のレーベルmullerよりリリースされたCorazon EPに挿入されたオリジナルのHorizonからインスパイアされた内容をもう一度ブレンドする製作を試みた作品である。このトラックでいかにオリジナルのCorazon EPが秀作であり、重厚なハーモニーを引き出すことに成功したことをお見せできるだろう。

記念すべき１回目には石野卓球、Christpher Just,等をはじめ彼ならではのセンスとコネクションを生かした強力ラインナップで構成され、大注目のビッグイヴェントとなり1200人をこえるクラバーを集めた。その後はTechnasia,Joris Voorn,Legowelt等世界のクラブを賑わす流行りの知名度だけでない、腕のあるミュージシャンのみを集めたパーティを開催し続ける。ドイツでワールドカップが行われた際には2000人の来場を上回り、シティパレードにも参加するようになる。都市展開もベルリン、パリ、ニース、フランクフルトとより視野を広げた形で開催され、今年よりリニューアルオープンしたTresorに場所を移しての初回はFunk D’voidを招致し、現在は3ヶ月毎に開催している。

今でこそ多くのレーベルが本拠地ベルリンに存在するものの、数えるほどしかなかった90年代初期から今現在に至るまでシーンに根付く息の長い数少ないレーベルの一つであることは、毎回のパーティに1,200人以上の動員をほこるレーベルへの評価の一つと言ってもよいだろう。時を経ても変わらない、純粋に躍らせる音楽を打ち出すプラットフォームとして、強かに存在し続けている。

Ministry of Sound kick off their latest compilation series with a mix from New York club scene stalwart Francois K. Masterpiece arrives in February.Francois K has done it all. He started out spinning disco in the seventies at legendary spots such as Studio54, Paradise Garage and The Loft. He mixed an album for Kraftwerk, he toured with Larry Levan, and he set up New York's original all-day party Body & Soul with Joe Claussell and Danny Krivit. And that's before we even get to the noughties. These days, however, Monsieur Kevorkian is known for keeping Gotham City up on Monday nights via his Deep Space residency where he throws down dub techno, nu-disco, hip hop, funk and house. He also runs four record labels.

Masterpiece arrives as a weighty three-disc set and in typical Kevorkian fashion takes in house, techno, electrohouse, dance rock and progressive house. Disc one features the 2007 crowdpleasers from Dubfire, Cobblestone Jazz, D.I.M, Gregor Tresher, and Audion while disc two is a nod to the Motor City with Model 500, Drexciya and Robert Hood sitting alongside Europeans Len Faki, Joris Voorn and Samuel L Sessions. On disc three, K dons his house cap mixing up current deep house from Dennis Ferrer, Henrik Schwarz and The Mountain People alongside The Orb, Dee-lite and Jephte Guillaume. Something for everyone, then.

I’m a huge Beroshima fan (aka Muller Records label-chief Frank Muller) and this is as good as it gets for soul-techno fans. The original has been a slow burner since surfacing last summer with supporters numbering Valentino Kanzyani, Lucca and Francois K, and is amazing in its own right. But to be honest Funk D’Void remix is just in a different league and is best described as ear candy; a magical journey of burbling basslines and striking synth electronica. 5/5

Originally out last summer (2007) on Cocoon, Horizon returns with a mix from Funk D’Void and a couple from Frank ’Beroshima’ Müller. Peaceful keys and a smooth bassline make Müller’s own Corazan Mix the winner.

Jay Kaufman – Fucking spot on! Soma seems to be returning to their progressive house roots as of late – and I’m liking it. I know Orde and Stu probably hate that word combination, but like it or not this IS progressive house. Forward thinking music with a nice melodic edge. Soma is on fire as of late and I’ve started finally started paying attention to their releases again. This is a belter. Well, not necessarily a ‘belter’ in the traditional sense, but it’s wicked all the same. I love the melodic elements. The Funk D’Void mix perhaps takes the cake, but the other two are just about as good and all mixes will get properly rinsed out like a dirty pot. 10/10

Masterfully combining the best of house and techno in his productions since 1994, when tech-house was just a twinkle in its parents’ eyes, Müller Records label-chief Frank Müller aka Beroshima is somewhat of a sergeant in the ranks of the genre. Soma Records are now proud to present his label debut in the form of Horizon.

The original Horizon was released in summer 2007 on Cocoon Records complete with a minimal rework by Pig & Dan. With support pouring in from Valentino Kanzyani, Lucca and Francois K, Soma jumped at the chance of releasing a remix package of this monster when approached by Müller.

On remix duties comes Funk D’Void. Like Müller, Funk has been crafting together house and techno since the mid-nineties making him the perfect candidate for the job. His Hope Remix takes the original and kicks it up a notch in a blissfully ecstatic rework that will set the floor ablaze.

Müller himself then hits us with his own Deep Mix. A moody, soulful, hypnotically introspective slice of the deepest in deep house, this mix easily lives up to its name.

Finishing off the 12” is the Corazon Mix, an inspired rework of Horizon which borrows elements from Müller’s incredible Corazon EP, released on Müller Records in January 2007, blending ingredients from both singles in absolute harmony.

It happens sometimes that a certain release slips through our maze, and when it does, we usually turn our heads to those other crates of tuneage we will be reviewing for you. But not this time. Beroshima's Moonraker's is one of those EP's we forgot to include in the batch, and we sincerely apology for not informing you about this hottie! Moonraker has become an EP that is among the best house music has brought us this year.

First one off is the Original House Mix, which is a deliciously nasty reflection of the outfit's sinister electrohouse sound. The rather minimal introduction is soon enough spiced up with a clash of synths that sound industrial and melancholic at the same time, thereby creating a dreamy and utterly brilliant vibe as spacey as spacey can be. The whole track basically revolves around this big synth wave that keeps on evolving throughout the sequence, with enough variation to keep the attention. It's proggy, it's electro, it's on the edge of deep house too, but above all, it's absolutely amazing.

Cosmonaut takes the original to new dimensions with an equally deep and highly mesmerizing blend of intense synths and waves while the beats take care of a hypnotizing dance-floor rhythm. The synths keep on transforming throughout the track by which the overall becomes a bluesy but beautiful piece of house music. A bit James Holden-style, and close to perfection.

America takes care of the final remix with a more uptempo and more towards progressive club rocker featuring brilliantly sampled vox, shifting synths and lots of deep sound waves. Whereas the previous two tunes engage on a hypnotic trip, this one shoots the listener even further beyond the stars right into the unknown depths of space. The uptempo rhythm is what makes this track an absolute insane piece of progressive/deep house music, and therefore a definite must-have.
I cannot label this EP anything else that absolutely fantastic. All three tracks are simply brilliant, reflecting nothing but love for music and pure talent from those who produced them. The original and the Cosmonaut mix are both midtempo floorfilling tunes one can only dream off, with the America remix skyrocketing the track right into the orbit of perfection. You simply can not afford to let this EP pass you by. 365Mag's absolute number one EP of this Autumn, and unlikely to be bettered this year.

As his 2nd label,Muller Record is launched in 1996,grew with Berlin based club sound and developed into one of the successful German electronic music export labels. He has built up a musical network from Berlin around the globe to Tokyo to south America,south Asia. After four years he concentrated his activities on Muller Records, his own playground where he invited other high-profile techno producers.
One of the representable Beroshima releases "Electronic Discussion" and "Deebeephunky" became worldwide stompers and started a series of club hits released on Muller Records. Soon other artists and friends joined the label.

Meanwhile Frank promoted his sound as DJ and high-quality live act at all the countless major places around the world where techno is celebrated. Reaching a known status as a techno-pioneer in countries like France, Japan and Germany. Frank has been a resident DJ at Mayday, Europe’s biggest indoor rave and now is a resident at the WIRE Festival,(it’s Asia’s biggest indoor-rave in Japan(sony music),and hosting his residency night in Tresor and Maria.
